There are total 7 cards of which 2 are Player’s cards and 5 are Community card in Holdem While in Omaha there are 4 Player’s cards and 5 Community card making a total of 9 cards. According to the rules of Omaha, to make your best hand you need 2 cards from your hand and 3 from community cards. But in Hold’em you can make your hand in any possible way.

With 9 cards you have a higher number of high combinations of cards which can be made. The starting hand is crucial to Omaha high point poker as at times full houses can also get beaten. If you have a good hand then you should wait for a flop otherwise you should fold rather than continue to play and lose. Do not make haste in deciding when to raise. Raise in the beginning of the game only if you have a winning hand. Your chances of winning are brighter when you have double suited cards. Venn single suited cards are better than unsuited cards. A straight flush guarantees a win. If you have suited cards and that too aces then you have a very good chance of winning the hands with flop and turn.

Here’s is a look at the point system for high Omaha poker: clubs and Ace high flush in spades have 4 points. There are nine points for Ace pair, eight points for King’s pair and two points for Ace. You should have high cards only if you are playing a split game. Your hand must have ten and above to have high points. You should also have two double suits or two pairs or one pair and two suited cards. In case you have AS, AC, TS, QD it is considered high as all cards are above ten and two cards are from same suit and two are pairs. Thus the hands are qualified on the basis of the cards you get. Based on the value of the cards the points are calculated. You can play only if you have 25 points and above. To raise at least 30 points are needed. You can have 45 points in hand at the maximum. hand
